Welcome to the website of the Vlaamse Volksbeweging
|
The Vlaamse Volksbeweging VVB (Flemish popular movement) is Flanders' biggest independent organisation striving for more autonomy - and ultimately membership of Europe - for Flanders.
Since its founding in 1956, It has always been an influential action group and think tank within the Flemish and Belgian political system. Many politicians of different political parties and fractions are member of the VVB and several politicians have made their name through the organisation.
The VVB strongly promoted the move towards a federal Belgium. Since 1991, the organisation strives to make Flanders a fully qualified member of the European Union.
For the last 50 years, the VVB has been the main driving force of the Flemish movement, a large group of organisations that want to move peacefully towards more autonomy for Flanders and Wallonia.
